According to Rwigema and Venter (2004), screening potential opportunities is similar to sifting among job applicants. Candidates are short-listed until the desired person is selected. Screening will bring aspects that are harmful to the venture to light. This process will help an entrepreneur to clearly see whether his/her venture will be a high - or low potential one (profitable or not so profitable). The following criteria must be used:

• Economics
• Harvest issues
• Management team
• Fatal flaw issues
• Personal criteria
